Team & workspace admin
What an admin needs to know: organization settings, teams, and integrations.
Where to find admin settings
Click your avatar in the sidebar user menu and choose Organization. This entry is only visible to admins and owners. You’ll see tabs for organization details, members, invites, SSO, and SCIM. Billing is accessed via the Pricing page (owner-only).
Organization details
Under the main settings tab you can set:
- Organization name — the display name for your workspace.
- Organization slug — used as a stable identifier in URLs.
- Email domain (optional) — users who sign up with this domain automatically join your organization. Leave blank to require explicit invites.
Members and invites
Invite a user
On the Members tab, click Invite user. Paste an email, choose their starting role, and send. Invitees receive a link; they create an account (email + password) or sign in with SSO to join.
Change a user’s role
From the members list, open a member’s row menu and pick a new role. Admins can promote/demote users up to admin level. Only owners can assign the owner role to someone else.
Remove a member
Removing a user takes away their access to the organization. Their historical cards, votes, and comments stay on old boards for context.
Teams
Teams are optional groupings within an organization. They’re useful once you pass ~15 people, or when different groups need different Jira projects.
Create a team
Go to Teams in the sidebar and click + New team. Team leaders can create teams; admins and owners can create any team.
Add members
Add existing org members to the team. Each team member is either a member or a leader within that team.
Wire up Jira
On the Jira Projects sub-page, pick which Jira projects this team can create issues in. Team leaders can customize defaults per issue type. See Jira integration.
Users can belong to multiple teams. When creating a board, picking a team makes the board inherit that team’s Jira projects.
Integrations
Jira is connected at the org level by an admin at /admin/jira and projects are assigned to teams. See Jira integration.
SSO (SAML 2.0 or OIDC) is configured under the SSO tab. Supported providers include Okta, Azure AD / Entra, and Google Workspace. You can upload IDP metadata or enter endpoints manually, then use the Test Configuration button to verify before enabling org-wide.
SCIM (Enterprise plan) is configured under the SCIM tab — generate a bearer token, paste the endpoint URL into your IdP, and map IdP groups to VeloBoard teams for automated provisioning and role assignment.
Billing
Billing is owner-only and managed through Stripe. Open Pricing and click Manage Billing to change seats, billing cadence, or payment method. See Billing & plans for details.
