Board templates
Templates are column presets with a recommended flow. Pick one when you create a board, and the columns come pre-configured.
Built-in templates
Start, Stop, Continue
Best for: end-of-sprint retros, fast-moving teams.
Three columns — what should we start doing, what should we stop doing, and what’s working well that we should continue. The action-oriented framing makes this the quickest format to run.
What went well · What to improve · Actions
Best for: quarterly reviews, team health checks.
A more reflective format. The Actions column captures explicit commitments rather than letting them emerge implicitly from discussion.
Custom templates
On the Team and Enterprise plans you can create custom templates scoped to your organization. From the Dashboard, click the Templates button in the top toolbar to open the Manage Templates dialog.
Give the template a name
And an optional description — this is what teammates see in the New Board dialog.
Add columns
Between 1 and 8. Set a title and pick a color for each.
Save
Your template now shows up in the New Board dialog under "Organization Templates" for everyone in the workspace.
Editing a template updates the preset but does not change cards on existing boards — each board keeps the columns it was created with.
