General
Can I use VeloBoard for async retros?
Yes. Create the board a few days out, share the link, and let people drop cards on their own schedule. Since cards are visible as soon as they’re posted, async teams tend to skip the timer and just set a deadline for when the retro is "closed".
Do you have a mobile app?
Not yet — but the web app is responsive and works on phones and tablets. Add it to your home screen for an app-like experience.
Is there an API?
Not at this time.
Is my data secure?
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sensitive credentials (like Jira API tokens) are encrypted server-side with AES-256-GCM before they hit the database. We never sell your data.
Accounts & sign-in
How do I sign up?
Sign up with your email and a password on the landing page. If your organization uses SSO, type your email and the password field is replaced with "Continue with SSO" automatically.
I got an invite link — what do I do?
Click the link, then either sign in (if you already have an account) or create one. You’ll be added to the organization as soon as authentication succeeds.
My SSO sign-in isn’t working.
Check with your workspace admin that SSO is enabled for your email domain and that you’re a member of the right identity-provider group. Admins can view auth attempts in Organization Settings → SSO.
Retros & cards
Why are all cards visible immediately?
VeloBoard shows cards as they’re posted. Teams that prefer a "silent writing" period typically agree to not look at the board until the timer ends — or use the Jira-style anonymous toggle to lower the social cost of writing first.
How many votes do I get per card?
One vote per card per person. Click the thumbs-up to add your vote, click again to remove. There is no per-retro vote budget.
Can I edit a card after posting it?
Yes — click the ··· menu on your card to edit or delete. You can only modify cards you created.
How do I post anonymously?
Anonymous posting is a per-board setting. A board owner can enable it in Board settings. Once on, everyone sees a "Post anonymously" switch on the card creation form.
Timer
How do I reset the timer?
Click the reset button next to the play/pause control in the timer widget. The timer restores to its last configured duration.
Does everyone see the same countdown?
Yes — the timer is per-board and synced through Supabase realtime. Starting or pausing is reflected for every viewer immediately.
Billing (owners only)
Is there a free trial?
Yes — 14 days on the Team plan, no credit card required.
How do I change my payment method or seat count?
On the Pricing page, click Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal. From there you can update card details, change seats, switch monthly/annual, and download invoices.
What happens if I cancel?
Your workspace stays on Team until the end of the current billing period, then reverts to Free. Data is not deleted. Boards that exceed Free limits become read-only.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or education?
Yes — email support@veloboard.dev and we’ll work something out.
Admin
A member left the company. What do I do?
Open Organization Settings → Members, find them, and remove them. Their historical cards, votes, and comments stay in place for board history.
How do I set up Jira?
An admin connects Jira at /admin/jira with an API token. Team leaders then assign the relevant Jira projects to each team in Teams → Jira Projects. Boards inherit Jira access from the team they belong to. See Jira integration.
